Trove Ancient Dragon Souls - One Free Per Day

So, with the Ancient Dragon, the first challenge you do will get 1 soul given to you per day. Great stuff, will make acquiring the dragon easier for those players who don't want to spam challenges all day every day - and rather do other stuff in or out of game. I think that's great.

 

But why exactly will we be unable to trade or drop those souls? (aside from the cynical and facetious remark of making us buy more storage space).

 

Unless we know exactly how long the dragon will be around for (usually 1 month, but patches every Tuesday, so is that 28, 30 or 35 days?) and plan for that. So if 28 - then use 72 acquired souls plus the 28 dailies, or of course do no challenges at all after finishing the dragon, most of us will be left with at least 1 soul which will simply be taking space with no use.

 

So why not just lower the requirement from 100 to 72 (or minus however many days it'll be here for) and not give us a free soul per day? Well it brings back reliance on RNG - there will be no guaranteed souls anymore, whereas currently people will be guaranteed a set amount, enough to get the first few tiers.

 

Making the souls trade able affects the game's economy, sure - but to what extent? Given that people will require 28 (?) fewer souls, so there will be less demand and more supply anyway in the market. Trading those free souls won't raise supply by much more until near the end of the month when souls are in plentiful supply anyway.

 

Or - make them able to be dropped only, still affects demand/supply somewhat as friends/club members etc can 'trade' or people can take a risk on trading with strangers for flux which will probably bring about more scamming attempts and thus reports for Trion to deal with.

 

Or are there any other solutions?

Trove Suggestions & Changes

Problem, currently this pops up in your face and forces you to do something with it. No matter what you are doing. Solo'ing something where ever second might count, this proves to be very annoying.

Thoughts on the current flask meta

It might be a bit random but lately I’ve been thinking about how my roughly 75%, 3.76x damage amplification with surestrike and damage of your choice, of my classes damage output is due to popping flasks which to me seems like it could be a bit much.
