Can we please talk about how bad the new update is?

I don't get what you are trying to accomplish here Trion, on one hand you make challenges worthless by throwing out souls and coins as if it's nobody's business and on the other hand you create the shadow tower, which is just beating some shadow arenas in a row plus fighting an uninspired "boss" to get a small part of previous rewards. But let me make this clear:

 

First of all I am really disappointed by how much you devaluate dragons. I am one of the few players who got 90 dragon souls before the update and now I feel like I've been wasting my time trying to get this dragon. Let's face it, if you got enough classes on level 26, you can easily get more than 10 souls a day now by not even opening a single cache or buying some, which means that it might not even take a full week to get the new dragon or any other challenge dragon if you farm the coins. I feel like dragons should be something epic, something that rewards you for investing a lot of time on getting all those souls together. It just doesn't feel rewarding anymore if almost everyone has got one.

 

Secondly shadow towers are a joke. The "difficulty" goes to insane heights after just the 2nd floor. And by "difficulty" I don't mean the mechanics needed to avoid attacks or smart team compositions (which to be fair play a small role in hardmode), no! It just depends on the gear and how long you can hold down your left mouse button and occasionally press some other buttons until the boss feels like dying. There is no challenge and if the challenge consists of a one hit k.o. boss it is just bad design in my opinion.

 

In some way every boss in dungeons or shadow arenas feels the same, the only difference is how many small enemies they spawn and how much hp they got. There is just so much unused potential here, where's the platforming? Where are the weakpoints? Am I the only one who wants bosses to be something special and not just upped numbers?

 

Anyway, this brings me to the rewards, which are not even close to what was possible with challenges. The new 3 Titan Soul cache gives you 3000 Flux? 4500 Flux? Rare Shadow Souls? This is just about the same value you could get with a single challenge beforehand and now you get these rewards only once a week!? How am I supposed to get the flux and materials needed for better gear, if the only way to get it is to have better gear?? How are you ever supposed to catch up to the level 42 elite now? I don't see why people who already "finished" the game need to get even more rewards they don't need.

 

Well this is all I've got to say about this update so far. I'm happy that there are at least some good points to this update like better controller support and the new class is nice, but I can't really write walls of praise about that.

 

I feel like something has to change drastically, or else this game is doomed.

I been thinking of this nonstop, Why not have an update for the game where you can hide the Character XP bar through the settings, and/or add the Tome's EXP into a bar setup for the HUD so the player doesn't need to constantly press C just to check?
